Our friend's Jolene and Dusty invited us as well as Desi's bro Tony and his wife (my BFF) April over for breakfast a few weeks back. It was so nice to hang out with them and two of their three beautiful kiddos, Faith Marie and Zanden. Dusty also shared some of his culinary secrets for making delicious pancakes. Instead of using water in your complete pancake mix, substitute Sprite. They are the sweetest, fluffiest pancakes you'll ever taste, and so easy. For the kiddos they added chocolate chips, mmmm. Another trick I learned was how to bake your bacon instead of frying it. I ALWAYS avoid making bacon for the very reason it's messy and I hate cleaning up the mess. If you set the oven at 400* F and lay your bacon strips on a cookie sheet, you just bake for about 10 mins on one side, flip, and then bake until it's to your desired crunchiness. Delicious!!

{Kristy's Baby Shower}

Our good friend Kristy has returned home with her hubby and 4 beautiful girls from 3 years in Hawaii. Her husband just graduated from nursing school and they are house hunting in the "Couv" for their first home, meanwhile baby girl numero cinco!! is on her way in the next month!! So, to make up for all the baby showers we missed, a few of us girls dined out at PF Changs at our favorite outdoor shopping mecca, Bridgeport. => We munched delicious food and chatted about baby/kiddo woes and joys. It was so nice to hang with the ladies again! It's always so few and far between. Guests in attendance were Jenny S., her sis Jolene, Kristy, April, and Moi. Oh and baby nephew, Sebastian, isn't he beautiful => Of course, these pics are from my camera, so no pix of yours truly.

Randomness about me:

1) I'm a pretty slow starter to the day. Aside from the fact I enjoy morning walks, when I'm not sneaking off to the fresh air, I can be found on the couch in my jams with a hot cup of joe, my computer, and usually a kid or two fighting for a spot on my lap =>
2) I'm not a big sun worshiper as I have a terrible suspicion I would be stricken with skin cancer, paranoid much?? => I do, however, have quite the constellation of moles on my back so I choose self tanner and profuse apologies when I blind people with the whiteness that reflects off my legs.
3) I really wish my mom's mom (Peggy) was still alive, I have a feeling we'd have a lot to talk about...I had a feeling she was watching me tonight as I was jogging home...is that weird??
4) I'm very superstitious, I don't know why, but when people suggest you "knock on wood" I ALWAYS do it. and if there is no wood around, any paper product will do. I mean, it was wood once, right???
5) I'm very technologically challenged, I mean my phone doesn't even have a camera on it!! Really, it's a dinosaur and I'm in no hurry to replace it. My husband has given up on me think.
6) I'm the most unsual type-A personality I know. It's like I'm so NOT Type-A that I have to swing to the extreme of Type-A-ness to compensate for my total ability to slack and be lazy...I'm sure that makes no sense at all...
