Let's talk about Aiden!

All this talk of Jilly and I'm forgetting our newest family member who is growing by leaps and bounds these days! Aiden is now 8 & 1/2 months old and boy does he want to be a big boy already. He's truely crawling now (about a week ago he figured it out) instead of inch-worming around. He still inch-worms when he really wants to get around fast. He's been pushing himself up to sitting for awhile now and takes great pleasure in throwing things down, diving to pick the items up, and rolling back into a sitting position. He also pulls himself up on everything. He'll push himself up onto the downward dog position in an attempt to stand, but has yet to accomplish that feat. He's also very into big boy food. He wants to do it himself and get's quite worked up if I take his bread/cracker away when I'm afraid he might choke. I need to invest in some cheerios and soft fruit/veggie bits. He'd probably appreciate it. When I went to get him up Tuesday, he was sitting up in his sleeping bag sleeper (his sleepy, we call it) holding his Teddy bear and having a "da-da-da" conversation with it. I snuck out, grabbed the camera, and snuck back in to snap a picture. I only got one before he dove for me. He's just growing up so fast. Oh, yes, and he also has had his first two teeth (which arrived ensemble) for about a month or so. Anyhoo, that should be a good update for now on Baby Brother.

Ballerina Jillian

Aunt Sally got Jillian an adorable, hot pink, tutu. She LOVES it and would wear it everywhere we went if she could. We've been practicing our ballet moves such as Sachay-ing (I'm sure that's not the correct spelling), pirroettes, and plies. She loves it. You can see here attempting a pirroette in one of the photos... She's pretty fun.

Cake!

Now Beaverton Bakery knows how to do Cinderella right. I still think our homemade cake tasted better, but boy was this cake gorgeous! Banana cake with cream filling and whipped cream frosting. Mmmmm.

Present time!

As the years go by Jillian is learning about opening gifts, that is, they are there to be opened. She is still a bit overwhelmed by the number of gifts to open though. After awhile she would just grab a gift and dump it, unceremoniously, on top of the pile and move on to the next without even noticing. She was in a blur, you could see it in her eyes. We settled her back down though. She especially loooooved the big girl lips from Nana Lou. She had actually fallen in love with that very tube of lipgloss at nana's house. Linda was so excited to see her open it because she knew how much she'd love it. Here we see her slathering it on. After all the gifts were opened she ran around the room giving hugs and thank you's to everyone. I have to give props to my Daddio for the Disney Princess music player he picked out for her. She definitely has the musical gene. She carried it around the rest of the night, playing Cinderelli over and over. She woke up bright and early the next morning and went in search of it. Now that was pretty cute. Nana Nancy also made Jillian the most precious pink curtains for her bedroom windows. They are perfect! The color of the fabric and tiny flowers are just the right shade and motif! Jillian has been asking for pink curtains since Christmas and these are so much more because they are handmade. Thank you for that, Nancy. I am so greatful to everyone for coming and celebrating with us. It was such a fabulous day and Jillian had a wonderful time!!

Pics from the big B-Day

More from J's B-Day!

We gave Baby J her presents, one of which was Mooooooon sand as you can see Desi is telling me in picture number 4. Those two are so cute, making little moon sand people and memories at the same time. We were so glad Papa could join us to celebrate. We had a really lovely time, including Chinese take-out. Mmmmm.

Jillian's 3rd B-day cake...homestyle

Since Jilly's B-day fell on a weekday, we decided to make our own cake and save the big one for her party. Half the fun for Jillian is getting in there and mixing it up, so here are some pictures of her making her cake. She cracked me up. I mean, we all look forward to licking the spoon, but she was munching from powder to completed batter. She would tell me in the most serious tone, "I'm just eating the little balls, Mom, just the little balls" as she snacked away. I felt bad for the final result because when I bought the bag of decorating frosting, I failed to note the part about having your own pastry tip. I am so ghetto and in need of basic kitchen supplies...sigh...someday I suppose. Anyhow, that explains the enormous pink, turds that spell out her name. Thank goodness she's too young to care.=> She loved the Cinderella lollypop the most. The cake tasted even better than the one we bought. Go figure.

More Forts

The first image is Desi's Dad, aka "Papa". Jillian painstakingly covered him from head to toe in blankets. He's such a good sport. Sunday afternoon Jillian buried herself and Daddy in pillows. They were so cute. All i could hear were her giggles and their conspiratorial whispers. So cute.

The Fort

Well, due to internet difficulties, I have been so behind in posting new photos. Thankfully, again, my husband has come to the rescue and fixed our problem. So, little miss Jillian is really into pillow forts these days. As I will show later, she pulls pillows from throughout the house, but has to have another person to really make it worth while. This particular day she had recruited Aiden. Poor kid. He looked so blue, his eyes imploring me to rescue him which I did eventually, although as you can see in the picture of him trying to get out, she's holding onto his foot. Little stinker. She really needs a playmate. Thank the Lord for Skyler and Spencer. =>
