something close

So this Santa Barbara kitchen from It's Complicated, yes still not over it, is just so rustic yet feminine and I just want to cozy up in it with a hot cup of jo and a cook book. The pendants above the island I sort of love. I think the industrial look of them compliments and curbs the other softer pieces in the room. And as long as we're on the subject just thought I'd throw in these sleek white pieces I just love. I love the delicate scallops around the edges of this plate and the way these white canisters sort of look like the porcelain version of a Campbell's soup can... I think spring cleaning is on it's way...

This sweet little guy's momma asked me if I would take some newborn photos of him. I was looking forward to doing so with my new camera, that was until it took a little spill from the desk to the floor, which wouldn't have been terrible except that the leg of the computer chair was in the way and my brand new 50mm 1.8 lens was damaged. I'm not sure how much it would be to fix it, but for as inexpensive as they are, I seriously doubt that would be the way to go. So, these were taken with my Nikon D40 and my manual 50mm 1.8. Not too bad actually, I was relieved bc I really wanted them to turn out. So here is this sweet little mister. I have a lot to learn in the way of not only shooting but processing photos. Next post I'll try to put a few of my little fam, but we've been such a bunch of sickies around here I really haven't felt so inspired. I'm ready for the January blues to disappear and springtime to pop around the corner. I walked to the mailbox in a tank top today as the sun was peaking through the clouds enough to give the impression of a spring afternoon. And my orange chair print arrived. Now I have to redo my guest bath to accommodate it. Looking forward to a change...

pretty much obsesssed

My Bestie April and I went to see "It's Complicated" yesterday, and oh.... SO GOOD! I laughed, I cried, I almost peed my pants. Such a great movie. Even GREATER (not that that's an appropriate use of the word mind you) is the amazing set... oh how I wish. Well, I thought I'd try to find out where I could find the kitchen pendants and came across the name of the set designer Beth Rubino. She also did Something's Gotta Give which is also a DREAMY set. Oh her mixture of antique and modern elements with shiny sparkling touches is unbelievable. I can't even imagine how I would begin to put together such depth in the composition of a room. True artistry really. Well, there is a scene in the movie in a bathroom, (and if you see the movie you will know which one I'm "refer"ring to, lol) and I fell in love with the print on the wall. Well, lo-and-behold in my searches for the pendants I came across the ETSY artist and the now famous print. I am now the proud owner of the "Orange Chair Silhouette Collage" ... in love...
