Mommy's Friend Shower

Having fun at Mom's baby shower! Thanks to my fabulous friend Jolene, we had a wonderful day with both friends and their babes! I felt so blessed to have people who wanted to share in the arrival of baby no.2. The kiddos were so cute and had a blast playing and horsing around. Faith decided to check out the grease catch for the Traeger and had a wardrobe change. Jillian marched around and around the yard playing with Miranda and throwing the ball. Mia snuggled Jenny B as the gals chatted it up on the patio. All in all it was such a nice way to spend the day =>

Adventures of Jillian Elyse

Dust never settles on Jilly very long before she's off on a new adventure! Whether it's playing play-do with Grammy Wendy, swinging with her cousins or monkeying around, she's gonna have a good time. Of course, she also knows how to unwind after a busy day, as seen here zonked out in her car seat. Ahhh, to be able to sleep like that again. Not anytime soon these days! =>

Busy Little Bee

Jillian is never at a loss for creative activities. When in doubt, raid Nana Lou's plasticware drawer! At least you can find a ship to sail away in! And if the ship doesn't quite fit, you can always use it for a hat. =>

Welcome Aiden Christian!!

We have a new addition to our little family! Aiden Christian Estrada was born July 6, 2006 at 8:58pm. He weighed in at 7lbs 4oz 20 & 1/4 inches long. After a looooooooo-ng day with no food he arrived in the traditional fashion in the company of his Daddy, my Mommy (Grammy Wendy), and Desi's Mommy (Nana Lou). He was delivered by the fabulous Dr. Timothy Stewart and the nurse Denise. However, our first nurse, Jane, was such a joy and really made the experience so much more enjoyable! She however had to leave at the end of her shift. She wanted to stay, but was afraid of jinxing us with another 3 hours of labor.

Aiden took his time in arriving, choosing instead to float around in the remnants of the amniotic fluid instead of engaging in the birth canal. However, once he did manage to do so he got down to business. About 30 minutes after he was engaged and 11 minutes of pushing his arrival was met with lots of tears and a big ole lusty cry from the boy! He immediately settled down and was mesmerized by his family. Those in attendance included Grammy Wendy, Papa Mark, Nana Lou, Papa Dennis, Aunt Apee, Uncle Tony, Uncle Alan, and Christina. Grampa John and Nana Nancy arrived shortly after with big sister Jillian. What a moment she had with him. She cuddled in on one side of me with baby broth cradled in our arms and was smitten. She marvelled at his super grip on her finger by his tiny fist and was worried about his "owees" and the "goo on his eyes...Poor, baby brother". She warned him not to fall on the floor cuz that's not for babies. She peppered him with kisses and hugs and loved to rock him in the rocking chair.

We were greatful to return home from the hospital Saturday night, after a brief respit at nana and papa's house. We're adjusting to life with our new little bundle. Although he really generally eats, sleeps, and poops, the night time consists of lots of interupted sleep. Daddy got peed on for the first time yesterday!! => It was pretty funny and surprising! Just thought I'd add that little tidbit!
